Meeting Minutes September 17, 2022
EAA Chapter 1167
Old Business:
Discussions with the County and the Drop Zone skydive people regarding participation on our November fly-in let to the decision not to participate due to the effort of setting up the temporary jump zone with the FAA.
Reach out to local business to invite them to become members or at least to know we exist
Fly-in will be held on November 5 with the typical food offerings
We voted to offer the flyer visiting from the greatest distance a $50 fuel credit and a drawing for a second $50 fuel credit.
New Business:
Pres and VP are interested in not seeking reelection
Suggestion to change the meeting time—building is closed at 1800
No decision made at this time
Larry read a letter from the Air Academy: Thank you letter and included the thank you letter from Johnathan (our sponsored student).
The YE attendance was really low this spring... The ROTC and Boy Scouts both had conflicts so couldn't attend. Reach out to Girl Scouts—what other source of worthwhile kids?
Suggestion that we offer a prize for the longest distance traveled and oldest airplane that shows up
Main Discussion:
Larry brought in a Waco Wagon wing rib – still looked quite solid. He’ll duplicate it then the original will go to the museum.
